Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough patient evaluations to obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and angiograms. Diagnose a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart diseases, and congenital heart disorders. Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings, medical history, and patient preferences. Prescribe medications, recommend lifestyle modifications, and determine the need for interventional procedures or surgery. Interventional Procedures: Perform cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures to treat coronary artery disease and related conditions. Electrophysiology Procedures: Conduct electrophysiology studies and procedures, such as ablations and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, to manage arrhythmias. Heart Failure Management: Specialize in the diagnosis and management of heart failure, including the evaluation of advanced therapies like ventricular assist devices (VADs) and cardiac transplantation. Cardiovascular Imaging: Interpret and analyze cardiac imaging studies, such as echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, cardiac MRI, and CT scans, to assess heart function and structure.
